I assume it will not be as effective as the $400 system that connects to the hot water, however, it will be much cheaper and easier to install (and not have to deal with headaches of bleeding coolant).The best way to check this is to wait until the unit is cold, remove the radiator cap and then run it until it gets fully to operating temperature.
