With the G17 slide on a 19 or 45 frame you basically are making a G19 long slide. I suppose you could use the same parts with a G34 slide it would just look a bit goofy. The G19 frame seems most practical for a compact and then a long slide with the addition of an adapted G17 slide. This way you have the ability to use G19 or 17 mags.
